One of the most dynamic designs in the 2004 collection, the limited production S1 features a skeletonized automatic ETA movement with parts that are finished with a titanium-based alloy via an ion sputtering process in blue, black, silver and gold colors. It’s a technique that is unique to the ETA name. The design of the S1 was inspired by the prestigious racing circuits of Europe, and the attention to detail in its engineering is on par with the most finely-tuned racing machines. A number of circuit insiders, who share our passion for the sport, were instrumental in its design. Check out the S1’s standard features and the original sketches.

Destined to ignite the next big trend in Pavé watches, this new Lupah is already on the hot list with Hollywood’s A-list. A true Lupah to the core, the Black Diamond’s solid stainless steel case elegantly displays a gunmetal finish and over 400 full-cut brilliant black diamonds individually hand set in four-prong jeweler’s settings. It’s perfectly matched with a genuine alligator strap with a quick set pin – which happens to come in fuchsia, just in time for Valentine’s Day.

Back-to-Back with Grammy: It’s official – or should we say - we’re official. Invicta has once again been selected to be the Official Timepiece of the 64th Annual Grammy Awards, airing February 8th on CBS. It’s the second consecutive year that our timepieces have been chosen to be in a gift bag given to presenters and performers. This year’s list of lucky recipients includes Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera and The White Stripes.

We Proudly Present: Invicta will be the official sponsor of the Distinguished Actor Award at the 6th Annual Costume Designers Guild Awards, as well as the Exclusive Timepiece of the event. The Invicta Distinguished Actor award is given to a producer, director or actor who plays a major role in their field. Look for the name of this year’s winner in an upcoming issue.

Sundance Kids: As mentioned in Issue 6, Invicta is the Official Timepiece of the 2004 Sundance Film Festival. Our digital watch, the Bermuda, will be part of a gift bag given to every filmmaker in the prestigious competition, as well as the hosts and presenters of the award show itself. Look for images form Park City, Utah in Issue 8.

One Hot Missy: We’ve teamed up with mega-watt rapper Missy Elliott for the filming of her upcoming video “I’m Really Hot.” Check out future issues for images of the watches Missy and her dancers wear, as well as a clip and a link to the video.

Ah autumn, the time of year when Mother Nature brushes much of the earth with a warm palette of yellows, oranges, browns and reds. Trees explode with color, and white t-shirts turn into burnt umber turtlenecks. It was around this time last year, when watch dials began to behave much like autumn leaves as well. Blues, blacks and silvers gave way to creams, coppers and crimsons. Was nature simply taking its course? Or were watchmakers following our lead after we successfully introduced versions of watches like the Lupah, ODA Luné, ODA Royauté, 1948 Terra and Precious Angel with warm-colored dials early last year? We don’t know for sure. But we do know that it’s a trend that will be hot for many seasons to come.
