This month, we dedicate The Movement to the incredibly popular Lupah series of watches. And what better way to kick it off than with the new Stainless Steel Lupah. This highly anticipated piece features everything you love about the spherical wonder, with the addition of a beautifully conceived polished and brushed solid stainless steel band. Each link, as well as the dual butterfly buckle, was inspired by the Lupah’s patented case and crystal design. And the copper colored enamel-finished guilloché dial adds an extra touch of heat to one of the coolest pieces in the series.

A solid stainless steel version of the incredible Solid 18K Gold Dragon Lupah (see Trend Watch Below or Issue 4 in the Archives), the new Automatic boasts all of the same wonderful features including a Valjoux 7750 movement, stunning enamel-finish guilloché dial, and large grain genuine alligator strap. This is the piece Lupah lovers have been craving.

Introducing the biggest, mightiest Lupah yet. The Lupah Grand. With a majestic case width of 48 mm. (before the crown and pushers), and a towering case height of 60 mm., the Grand can easily be considered one of the largest oversized luxury pieces on the market - and certainly one of the most affordable. Best of all, the Grand is fitted with a supple strap made of genuine Argentine leather, equipped with a custom designed deployment buckle. It’s the first Lupah to feature such a buckle. Available in solid stainless steel or layered Swiss gold.

A Little Sashay Down the Runway:
The unisex Lupah looked was sitting pretty on the sexy models at the Ashley Paige swimwear show during Fashion Week in Los Angeles. Which poses the question – did anyone notice the swimwear?

Gold had always been the ultimate status symbol of luxury, power and wealth. It had been that way for centuries. However, during the ‘90’s, there was a significant shift away from gold as consumers sought to distance themselves from the showy materialism of the ‘80’s. Cooler, edgier metals like steel, platinum and in some cases, white gold became white hot, sending traditional yellow gold out to pasture with thin leather neckties, leg warmers and Miami Vice. While white metals are still very much in, gold is making a welcome comeback. The warm hues of yellow or rose can be seen on many recently introduced pieces such as our Solid 18K Gold Dragon Lupah, which features over 135 grams of yellow gold. Hey, we may thankfully never see thin leather neckties again, but the return of gold has certainly been well worth its wait.
