Invicta Gear Winning Entry
I’m sure you get letters, and comments
about how much someone loves their Invicta timepiece, but this letter
is slightly different as it shares a story how your product helped save
my life this weekend.
My wife purchased a gold-tone Pro Diver automatic, with an exhibition
back, as a gift in November 2002. (I purchased her the women’s pro
diver #8945 on August 28, 2003.)
This weekend I had taken my nephew out, to help him with his target practice,
and to help him learn proper gun handling techniques. During target practice,
I removed my watch and placed it into my left shooting vest pocket (to
avoid reflection, and avoid gunpowder residue from getting on the watch).
As the day was coming to a close his gun jammed, and I told him to wait,
I’d show him how to clear the jam, but as I approached him, he apparently
cleared the jam and the gun fired as I was leaning into his sight table.
The weight of the watch in my vest pocket was enough that when the gun
fired it hit the watch and ricocheted off the watch and cleared my body.
It is my opinion that the angle of the gun, with the position of the watch
in my vest pocket, allowed the watch to deflect the 9mm bullet, and save
two lives that day, first mine, as had the bullet not deflected I surely
would have been hit center of my left chest, and secondly my nephew, for
had fate and my Invicta watch not intervened the psychological damage
to him would have been overwhelming.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart (and I mean that literally) for
creating such a fine timepiece. The watch was damaged beyond repair, but
rest assured as soon as finances allow I will definitely replace this
with another Invicta timepiece, as my life could very well depend on it.
I highly recommend Invicta to all my friends, now I have a more meaningful
reason to recommend.
Thank you again for the Invicta line of timepieces, my whole family thanks
you. I just wanted to share this amazing story with you, in these days
and times when taking the time to applaud a company is so rare, I felt
compelled to share this with you. I do hope this reaches you, feel free
to share this letter freely (as I will), as I feel it’s a truly
amazing story.
Sincerely,
AJ
